Chisom Awachie (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist working between Atlanta, GA and New York City. She is an actor, deviser, and video artist who, inspired by the concept of staging futures, strives to create soft places to land for members of the African diaspora. As a first-generation Nigerian-American, Chisom explores identity, authenticity, and the body to create safe versions of home. She holds a B.A. in Performing and Media Arts from Cornell University and an MFA in Theatre from Sarah Lawrence College.
